University School of Jackson’s hurricane relief donations leave for East Tennessee

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school lends a helping hand to hurricane victims.

University School of Jackson organized a relief goods collection to support communities affected by Hurricane Helene.

For the past two days, residents of the community as well as USJ faculty and staff have delivered items to USJ.

In those days, the 53 foot trailer has been filled with canned goods, cleaning supplies and other items.

USJ’s Marketing Director Pam Stanfield told us that they overflowed the truck and they had to use someone’s personal vehicle to help transport the rest of the load.

“It was about over 27 large shroud boxes full that you couldn’t get another thing on that trailer. I mean we were kinda packing it in right there at the very end. I’m just so proud of our community,” said Stanfield.

The truck left USJ Wednesday morning.
