Jackson Elks Lodge No. 192 holds dedication for new statue

JACKSON, Tenn. — One organization unveiled a new statue Thursday with a dedication. Jackson Elks Lodge #192 dedicated its new elk statue and a veteran’s memorial Thursday.

The lodge dedicated the statue to 133 years of continuous community service to the citizens of Jackson and Madison County. The Elks community service work impacts youth, veterans, scholarships, and many charitable organizations.

“When were talking to people wanting to become an elk that we can come out here and show this to them and show them this is a very, this isn’t really a small project compared to a lot of them that we do but it was run and the plan got executed perfectly and it was a great experience doing it,” said O. Wayne Woods, president of Elks Lodge 182.

If you’re interested in becoming an elk, you can stop by their headquarters at 28 Executive Drive in Jackson.
