Upcoming ‘Wingfest’ to aid in fight against human trafficking

JACKSON, Tenn. — Food, fun and football! An annual fundraiser is returning to Jackson.

Wingfest will take place Saturday, October 26 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hub City Brewing. The family-friendly event supports the Scarlet Rope Project, a nonprofit that fights against human trafficking.

Attendees can taste the best wings in town as cooks from all over West Tennessee compete for the title of SRP Wing King or Queen. There’s also a hot wing eating contest, if you think you can handle the heat.  A kids area with jumpers and face painting will also be available, along with football games playing on the screens.

This year, there’s also the special addition of a dunk booth.

“If you are interested in dunking our Mayor Scott Conger, former county commissioner Joey Hale or Hub City Brewing and Rock’n Dough Owner Jerry Corley, this is your time. We’ll also have an undisclosed guest that you’ll see at the event as well so you’ll have four chances to dunk four different people around Jackson,” said Ashlee Allison, marketing and special events coordinator for the Scarlet Rope Project.

Kids 12 and under are free, so don’t miss this special event. For more information about the Scarlet Rope Project or to purchase tickets for Wingfest, click here.
