Local Vols fan goes viral after showing off his dance moves at Neyland Stadium
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A young Vols fan from West Tennessee goes viral at Neyland Stadium.
It’s all grooves and jams for this 7th grade student from Lexington after showing off his dance moves on the Vols jumbotron over the weekend.
13-year-old Cayson Cagle makes his hometown of Lexington proud after he shows off his Vol pride with dancing on the jumbotron during Tennessee’s 23-17 win over Florida last Saturday.
The original video exploded the Vols’ TikTok page, reaching over 2 million views and 126,000 reactions. Cagle says he wanted to stop, but the crowd wanted more.
“I was like in shock because at first I was dancing, and then I realized, I was like ‘Oh yeah, I’m done.’ And I was about to sit down and I hear ‘Boo!’ And then they put it back on me and everybody starts cheering so I just start dancing again. I was like, ‘They must really like me dancing.’ So I just kept doing it when they put me on there,” said Cagle.
The best part about his continued popularity is that he can count on his friends for their support.
“My friends are saying they think it’s cool they have a famous friend. They think it’s insane. I mean, I think it’s insane how all this is happening. Yeah, like, my friends are really supportive of me. I’ve got friends like Evan and Cash, they’ve been supporting me a lot,” said Cagle.
We asked Cagle after this happened how long was it before people started noticing and it started gaining traction.
“At half time, I went to go out to use the bathroom and people were complimenting me and stuff. I was walking back to my seat and people were noticing. So, I got noticed at about half time when I walked out,” said Cagle.
The Vols square off this coming Saturday against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cagle doesn’t hesitate to give his prediction for the win.
“Even though Alabama has a 6% more chance of winning I think we’ve still got a better chance because we’re playing at Neyland. Which, I mean, that noise is different — different atmosphere. But, I think they’re both really good teams but I think Tennessee can definitely win. We just have to get our offense better than our defense,” said Cagle.
This young Vols fan has been featured on various networks throughout the region and he’s signing footballs for his supporters. Cagle says he wants to play for the Vols in the future.
You can catch Cagle’s feature in the big orange kick off show Saturday, October 19 at Neyland Stadium.
