Wrecked vehicle draws police, fire, ambulance in east Jackson

UPDATE(10/15/24 at 6:36 p.m.): Jackson police confirmed to us that this incident involved a stolen vehicle.

JACKSON, Tenn. — A heavy police presence was spotted in Jackson Tuesday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., we received word from one of our WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Tipsters of a large police presence on Conalco Drive in east Jackson, which is off of North Parkway.

This area is near the Jackson Recycling Center, and the scene was just outside of the upcoming Jackson Animal Care Facility, which was recently subject to another serious vandalism.

Our tipster claimed this incident was a police pursuit that resulted in a car being flipped over.

We arrived on the scene around 7:30 and were able to find multiple Jackson Police vehicles, as well as fire trucks from the Jackson Fire Department parked with their lights on at the dead end of Conalco Drive.

Shortly after, an ambulance arrived on scene where a stretcher was taken out of the vehicle. The condition of the individual taken by the ambulance was unclear.

The police and fire departments began to leave the area shortly after 8 a.m., and a wrecked vehicle was spotted at the dead end, off of the road.

Around 8:45, the car was loaded onto a truck and the area was cleared of all vehicles. When the scene cleared, there seemed to be no car debris on the road. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

We have reached out to the Jackson Police Department regarding this incident and are still waiting for a response.
