Large emergency response helps save life in Crockett County
FROM THE CROCKETT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT:
LARGE EMERGENCY RESPONSE SAVES LIFE
A citizen experienced sudden cardiac arrest with two bystanders present who called 911. Dispatcher Meaghan Smith and Allison Parker gave the caller CPR instructions while nearby Deputies Richard Buntin and Logan Pitt arrived on scene first with an AED.
The AED delivered life-saving “shocks” and we appreciate the investment Bank of Crockett and Friends of Heart made to provide this essential equipment to all deputies.
Asst. EMS Director Will Huff, Paramedic Cindy White, AEMT Dewayne Coble, EMA Director John Pinto, Maury City Police Chief Allan Gilliland, Maury City Asst. Police Chief Josh Hughes, CCSD Investigator Blake Perry, and THP K-9 Officer Patrick Dwyer arrived on scene immediately thereafter to assist.
After more than 15 shocks, the victim was transported to a local hospital for further care. This is further evidence that our emergency systems works best when the citizens are put first.
We appreciate the Crockett County Cavalry coming together once again to effect a great outcome. This is a great reminder that AEDs Save Lives!
We are proud of our dispatchers, our deputies, the ambulance service, THP, and MCPD – thank you for your support that makes it possible for us to serve the citizens.
We are hoping and praying for a full recovery.
