Benton County Dispatch Report: October 11-17

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. — The following are full dispatch reports from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, October 11-October 17.

Dispatch

Friday, October 11

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputies responded to the report of an assault-not in progress. The complainant reported a physical altercation between a female subject and an employee. Deputies arrived on-scene and reviewed video footage. Deputy advised that it was a verbal dispute and there wasn’t a physical assault. Deputy advised that everything was okay. No report taken.
  • Deputy responded to the report of trespassing-in progress. The complainant advised that a male subject was on the complainant’s property. Deputy made contact with the male subject and advised him to go sit elsewhere.
  • Deputies responded to the report of child abuse/neglect. The complainant reported seeing a female subject hit a young child in the face. Deputies made contact with the female subject and her two children. Deputy advised that everything was in order and that the mother did discipline the child but nothing more than that.
  • Deputies responded to the report of domestic disturbance-in progress. The complainant reported that a female subject had hit the complainant in the eye. The complainant advised that did not want to press charges. Deputy spoke to both parties. Deputy advised no action at this time.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of a reckless driver. The complainant reported that a truck was all over the roadway and almost hit another vehicle. Deputy advised they had a visual on the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. Deputy advised the motorist was given a warning.
  • Deputy responded to the report of theft. The complainant reported their vehicle was broken into and items were taken. Deputy took a report.
  • Deputy responded to the report of theft. The complainant reported that they had a firearm stolen. Deputy took the report.
  • Deputies responded to the report of domestic disturbance-in progress.The complainant reported that their step-dad was intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Deputy arrested Kevin Dean Simpson on assault, domestic related charge.
  • Deputies responded to the report of a stroke. The complainant advised that they believed that they were having a stroke. Deputy advised that EMS transported the complainant.
EVA AREA
  • Deputy, EMS, and THP responded to the report of an accident-no injuries. THP took the report.
BIG SANDY AREA
  • Deputies responded to the report of domestic disturbance-in-progress. The complainant reported that her husband was throwing things and threatening her. The complainant reported that the male was attempting to leave before LE arrived. Deputies made contact with both parties. Deputy advised the husband had calmed down and agreed to take his medication.
  • Deputies, EMS, and coroner responded to the report of a deceased person. The complainant reported that they had not seen the male that resides on their property in a couple of days. The complainant reported they found the male deceased inside the camper when they went to check on him. Deputies advised that EMS transported the deceased.

Saturday, October 12

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputies, THP, EMS, BC Rescue Squad, Holladay McIllwain FD, South 40 FD, Air Evac and Life Flight responded to the report of a multi-vehicle accident-injuries on I-40 EB at MM129. Deputy advised one lane of traffic would be closed. THP took the accident report. Air Evac and Life Flight transported patients.

BIG SANDY AREA
  • Deputies, THP, EMS and AirEvac responded to the report of accident-injuries. Deputy advised that the patient was transported by Air Evac.
  • Big Sandy officers performed a traffic stop. Ray Page Anderson arrested on (Stewart Co) violation of probation warrant, driving on suspended license, and financial responsibility.

Sunday, October 13

CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy and EMS responded to the report of a 4-wheeler accident-injuries. EMS transported the patient.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a neighbor problem. The complainant advised that their neighbor had their driveway and part of the roadway blocked with tires and other items. Deputy spoke to the neighbor and advised that the neighbor moved everything with no issue.

Monday, October 14

Holladay/ Sugar Tree Area
  • Nothing to report for this area.
Camden Area
  • Deputies, EMS and CFD responded to an ambulance assist call. Caller advised they found their dad who attempted to commit suicide. EMS and deputies arrived on scene while CFD set up a landing zone for the air vac. Male subject was taken via Air Vac to the hospital.
  • Deputies responded to a call about multiple mailboxes being broken in the same area. Deputies arrived on scene and advised that they went to multiple residences to talk to the home owners. This is being investigated.
  • Deputy, EMS and CFD responded to an ambulance assist call. Caller advised they were driving down the road and found a male slummed over behind the wheel in the emergency lane. EMS and deputy arrived on scene and CFD worked on getting a landing zone up for the air vac. Male subject was taken via Air Vac to the hospital.
  • Deputies responded to a call about a repossession of a vehicle. Caller advised they made their car payment and the repossession company advised they did not. Deputies arrived on scene and found evidence that the caller did not pay the payment and vehicle was taken.

Tuesday, October 15

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of a neighbor problem. The complainant reported that a neighbor parked their camper on the complainant’s property and would not move it when the complainant asked. Neighbor was not home at the time of the report. Deputy made contact with the neighbor and advised them of their options.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a dispute. The complainant reported that a female subject threw things at a customer in the parking lot and left on foot in the area. Deputy checked that area but did not make any contact with the female subject. Deputy advised that the female will be banned per complainant’s request when contact is made with her.
  • Deputies and THP responded to the report of an accident. The complainant reported that a vehicle was wrecked with no one around it. Deputies made contact with the driver at his nearby residence. THP took the report.
CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of animals in the roadway. The complainant reported that there were five horses in the roadway. Contact was made with the horses’ owner. Deputy advised the owner was able to get the horses back and up on the property.
  • Deputy and THP responded to the report of an accident-no injuries with two vehicles and a deer involved. Deputy advised that one shot was fired to put down the injured deer.  THP took the accident report.

BIG SANDY AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of a suspicious activity. The complainant reported that two teenage boys on a 4-wheeler were throwing mud on cars that passed by. Deputy made contact with a father of one of the teenagers who advised that he would have a talk with his son.
  • Deputy responded to the report of a breaking & entering-not in progress. The complainant reported a male subject was attempting to break into a vehicle.  Aubrey Aviles arrested for criminal trespass, possession of schedule IV, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, October 16

HOLLADAY / SUGAR TREE AREA

CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the request to speak/see an officer. Deputy returned the complainant’s call and advised that they wanted a female subject trespassed from their property.  Deputy made contact with the female subject and gave her a trespass warning.
  • Deputies, EMS and coroner responded to the report of a deceased person.
  • Deputy and THP responded to the report of an accident. The complainant reported that a semi-truck pulled down a pole and internet lines when it came through the area. THP took the report.
  • Deputies responded to the report of a domestic disturbance-in progress. The complainant advised that a female neighbor requested someone call LE because a male subject had beat her up. Deputies made contact with both male and female parties. Deputy advised there would be a 12-hour party separation.
  • Deputies assisted Camden PD, THP and EMS with the report of two-vehicle accident-injuries. The complainant reported that a vehicle hit his parked truck from behind. Witnesses stated seeing the female subject leave the scene on foot. Deputies and K-9 were on foot in the area tracking the female subject. Deputy advised that the K-9 located the subject. Deputy advised that EMS transported the female for medical treatment. THP took the report.
  • Deputies responded to the request for a welfare check. The complainant reported that a male friend posted a statement online giving cause to be concerned for the friend’s welfare. The complainant advised that they could not reach the friend by phone or get an answer when knocked on the door. Deputy advised that contact was made and that everything was okay. Deputy advised that the male friend was not in any way a danger/harm to himself or to others.
  • Deputies performed a traffic stop. Deputy arrested Dennis Hatley on simple possession sch II-meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation light law, and driving on suspended license-4th.

CAMDEN AREA
  • Deputy responded to the report of accident-no injuries. The complainant reported that their vehicle was in neutral when it rolled downhill into trees. Deputy advised that an owner/operator report was given.
  • Deputies responded to the report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that someone was on their property around the barn. The complainant reported that a door was open on the bern. Deputy checked the property and cleared the barn. Deputy advised that everything was okay.
  • Deputies, THP, and EMS responded to the report of a single-vehicle accident-injuries. The complainant reported that they had wrecked and flipped their vehicle. It was still overturned. EMS transported two of the three occupants.
