Box sentenced to life for 2021 murder in Henderson County
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A sentencing was held in Henderson County for Gabriel Seth Box, who was convicted of first-degree murder as well as other charges earlier this year.
On August 30, a Henderson County jury convicted Gabriel Seth Box on four different counts including the first-degree murder of Felicity Nicole Inman in 2021. Before Judge Donald Allen announced his sentence, Felicity’s mother and father took the stand.
“Because what you did is indescribable. I don’t understand. I don’t fathom. I can’t begin to imagine how a human being can take another human being’s life in such a coward manner,” said April Inman, Felicity’s mother.
Box was charged with first-degree murder, theft of a firearm, and two counts of tampering with evidence. At approximately 12:55 on Monday afternoon, Judge Allen gave Box his sentence.
“Count one, life imprisonment. He will be sentenced to serve life imprisonment for the first-degree premeditated murder of Miss Inman. The current law is that is equivalent to a 60 year sentence in prison. And I think by current law it is a minimum of 51 calendar years,” said Judge Allen.
Box also received 2 additional years for the theft of a firearm charge, as well as 6 years each for both tampering charges. In the pre-sentencing questionnaire, Judge Allen said Box only wrote down quote, ‘Did not do it.’
According to a press release from District Attorney General Jody Pickens, Box originally claimed Inman had shot herself before forensic evidence proved otherwise.
