Important information to know as early voting deadline approaches

JACKSON, Tenn. — Early voting is still underway around West tennessee.

If you have not been able to get out and early vote this year, you still have some time. In fact, you have multiple days left where you are able to submit your ballot for this year’s elections, so that you do not have to wait during Election Day.

“The 31st is the last day to early vote. Tomorrow, which is Tuesday, is a late day for us. We open at 11am, and we close at 6pm. So anyone that wants to come in late, tomorrow’s that great day to do that. The 31st would be the last day to early vote,” said Lori Lott, administrator of elections for Madison County.

We were actually able to catch up with some Madison County voters about how the early voting process is, and if they recommend it for other voters.

“Quick, easy, plenty of help, no problem at all. Because it will be crowded on the 5th, as usual. So, if you got time, go ahead and get it done. Real important,” said Mark Trimmer, early voter.

If you participate in early voting, you can show up at 309 North Parkway in Jackson, that is if you live in Madison County. If you wait till Election Day, you will have to go to your designated precinct, and it may take longer for you to vote.

“Much easier I believe — the set up that we have, it just flows. People are saying, and I’ve been getting a lot of compliments, people are saying that they are in and out sometimes in 5 minutes. So yeah, it’s very simple to early vote,” said Lott.
