Alamo residents kick off city wide Halloween celebration

ALAMO, Tenn. — One town enjoys a Halloween celebration while staying safe.

Residents in Alamo had a city wide trick or treating event Thursday evening. Businesses in downtown stayed open to provide candy for trick or treaters as well as the East Park neighborhoods. They also had a trunk or treat located at the Crockett County High School.

“There’s a lot of effort that’s put forth, our small businesses in Crockett County are the backbone. They’re huge economic providers and so they just give and give and give and give and it means a lot to me that they look forward to supporting anything Crockett County. And they’re happier than anybody to stay after hours to keep their businesses open and let the kids come by and trick or treat, so it’s a lot of fun,” said Stephen Sutton, public information officer for Crockett County.

There was also security and traffic control to help keep kids safe on the streets.
