State Games sponsor announced during Jackson Chamber meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Greater Jackson Chamber held their quarterly membership breakfast Thursday morning and it was all about the upcoming State Games of Tennessee.
More and more information is being announced as the State Games of Tennessee keep getting closer.
The city of Jackson will be the host site next year. In case this is your first time hearing about the state games, we were able to get an overview for you.
“Well the State Games are a multi-sporting event that we’re gonna have the first two weekends of June in 2025. We will have participants from ages youth all the way to senior citizens. So we’re really excited to bring a new event to Jackson and a multi-sporting event that everybody can enjoy,” said Ryan Blake, tournament director for West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex.
There many sports that you can participate in during next year’s games. Each year after that, more sports will be added.
In Mississippi, their state games have a $12.2 million economic impact for the host town. Jackson is now the host town for tennessee for as long as they want it.
“We applied to be the host site for the State of Tennessee. As the recipient of that, we are the only place in the state that can actually officially host the State Games of Tennessee,” said Lindsay Dawkins, chief of staff for the Greater Jackson Chamber.
There was a big announcement that was made Thursday morning. The main sponsor was named. Just about all big events have a main sponsor, however this organization is doing more than simply donating financially.
“So West Tennessee Healthcare is going to be our presenting sponsor. Not only that, but they are also going to be taking care of the medical needs of the athletes and participants of the State Games,” said Dawkins.
If you or someone you know wants to participate in any event, registration is going to open sometime in December.
You can also volunteer to help, or even show up to watch the games when they happen.
This event is expected to bring thousands of people to the area each an every summer.
