It’s raining pumpkins! Jackson Christian Elementary kicks off ‘Great Pumpkin Drop’
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school enjoys a special tradition.
Earlier Friday, Jackson Christian School Elementary students participated in ‘Hallosteam,’ where they conducted STEAM activities throughout the day in their classrooms and specialty classes.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. In the afternoon, elementary students gathered at the flagpole for their 8th annual “Great Pumpkin Drop.”
Students built a protection box for class pumpkins, with help from Jackson Energy Authority, and dropped the pumpkins from growing heights to determine which box was best engineered.
