Election Day: What to know before heading to the polls
JACKSON, Tenn. — Election day is Tuesday and there are a few things you should know if you’re going to be casting your ballot.
Voters must bring valid photo identification with them to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by Tennessee state government, or by the federal government are acceptable, even if they’re expired.
If for any reason you have any issues casting your vote, the Secretary of State’s Division of Elections reminds voters to utilize the Election Day hotline for questions and text resources.
“Be sure that you’re address is up to date and current, and if it’s not, be sure that you bring a piece of mail with your updated address. We can get that all updated for you and make sure that you’re voting in the correct precinct that you are supposed to be registered for,” said Laney Tucker, administrator of elections for Crockett County.
You can report voter fraud and other issues by calling 1-877-850-4959 or by texting “TN” to 4-5-9-9-5.
