West Bemis Middle School, Mona Lisa School of Dance presents Veterans Day program
BEMIS, Tenn. — The Mona Lisa School of Dance and West Bemis Middle School students and staff presented a special program Friday.
‘A Loyalty of Legacy and Service’ was their 2024 Veterans Day Program. It was held at West Bemis Middle School inside the gymnasium Friday morning. There were speakers, singers, dancers and veterans in attendance.
The goal was to show appreciation to veterans through music they remembered.
Choreographer Mona Lisa Lanier shares that she was inspired by music from 1941 to swing dancing.
“Think about Aretha Franklin. Think about James Brown. They enjoyed all of this music that was presented so you can’t forget it. Music plays a big part so all I did was got the music and put dance to it,” said Lanier.
Lanier concluded with a reminder to make sure and thank a veteran for their service to our country.
