Amaryllis sale returns to UT Gardens – Jackson
WEST JACKSON, Tenn. — The sale returns of a flower you can enjoy all winter long.
More than 500 amaryllis bulbs across 23 varieties will be available for purchase at University of Tennessee Gardens – Jackson’s, annual Amaryllis Sale.
It will be held Tuesday, November 12th, from noon to 6 in the evening at the West Tennessee Agresearch and Education center.
The sale is free to attend and open to the public.
“So amaryllis is a bulb people typically grow in their house. You plant them this time of year and you enjoy them blooming around Christmas time and then you can keep it as a house plant putting it out in the Summer and then you can bring it back in next Fall. So they have these really cool huge flowers on them as much as 6 inches across,” explained gardens curator Jason Reeves.
All amaryllis bulbs are $22 dollars, with proceeds benefiting the upkeep of UT Gardens – Jackson, and their ongoing mission to provide hundreds of varieties of plants for public enjoyment, community education, and horticultural research.
