1938 – 2024

Ida Nell Duke Kee, age 86, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed
this life Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2024 at the National HealthCare
Center in Somerville.
Nell was born July 6, 1938 in Moscow, Tennessee, the daughter of the late
Roy Lee Duke and Verna Mae Hoskins Duke. She graduated from Fayette
County High School in 1956 and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County.
She started working at the Wurlitzer Piano Factory in Holly Springs,
Mississippi and then worked at Wal-Mart in the deli, then became a door
greeter and cashier before her retirement. Nell was a member of the
Evangelical Full Gospel Church in Moscow and loved spending time with
her family, reading, working word find puzzles, playing bingo, canning food,
going on cruises and getting extra fancy with her red fingernails.
Ms. Kee is survived by her two sons, Richard Clayton Kee (Lisa) and
William Mark Kee (Wanda); her sister, Linda Joan Dobbins (Jimmy); three
brothers, Odie O’Neal “Neal” Duke (Darlene), Jerry Wayne Duke (Lori) and
Terry Ray Duke (Betty); two granddaughters, Rebekah Nicole Kee Mercer
(John) and Ashleigh Dawn Kee; and two great-grandchildren, Isabella
Rayne Mercer and Mason Alexzander Rhea.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara
Ann Fredericks; her brother, Roy Laverne Duke; and her grandson,
Thomas Clayton Kee.
A visitation for Ms. Kee will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Monday,
November 18, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Monday, November 18, 2024 at the
Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Sam Wolfe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston.
