2024 Veterans Day Parade takes place in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—The annual Veterans Day Parade takes a visit downtown this weekend.

The parade was lead by multiple motor cycles, a marching band, parade marshal and multiple law enforcement.

And a prize was rewarded to the best decorated vehicle.

Veterans Day holds deep historical significance, dating back to the end of the first World War.

The annual November holiday is designated to recognize and honor U.S. Military personnel and their service.

“The ringing of the bell eleven times represents when Veterans Day was actually coined as a  national holiday. It was the end of the World War. Eleven rings symbolizes November the eleventh and the eleventh hour,” said Mary Ross, Parade Chair for West Tennessee Veterans Coalition.

They’re kicking off the Military Ball to salute veterans next week on November 23 at Madison Downs.
