Woman arrested as suspect in shots fired incident

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman was taken into custody as a suspect in a recent shots fired incident in the Hub City.

According to the Jackson Police Department, 40-year-old Jurita McKinnie was arrested and charged for attempted criminally negligent homicide.

JPD says on November 7, officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting that occurred in the area of Crest Street in east Jackson.

According to police, no injuries were reported, and officers did not locate any victims or property damage at the scene.

During an investigation, police say investigators developed McKinnie as a suspect.

Information available online shows that McKinnie was arrested on November 15, and she has since been released from the Madison County jail on bond.
