Madison County Sheriff speaks at Jackson Rotary Club meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rotary Club welcomed a special speaker Wednesday.
Madison County Sheriff Julian Wiser shared a yearly update at Wednesday’s meeting held at First United Methodist Church in downtown Jackson. He spoke about some accomplishments of the sheriff’s department. Sheriff Wiser shared that the department received a $1.9 million dollar grant through the state of Tennessee for school resource officers.
But that’s not all.
“We also obtained a $1 million dollar grant to upgrade the radio system, increase the pay for our staff and just a lot of good things going on at the sheriff’s department,” said Sheriff Wiser.
Lastly, Sheriff Wiser explained that the SRO program is a good way to build relationships and community partnerships.
