Annual ‘Santa, Snow and Cocoa’ event brings holiday joy to Brownsville
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — One local community experienced their first snowfall and Santa sighting Friday evening.
‘Santa, Snow and Cocoa’ returned for its 3rd year to the Brownsville community.
“So the event is sponsored by the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. Kind of our way of giving back to the community for all of their support year round,” said Sonia Outlaw-Clark, director for the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center.
This free, community event invites children 12 and under to enjoy free cocoa and to tell Santa want they want.
Kaleb Thomas wants a four wheeler for Christmas.
“Riding around the backyard and then a trail,” said Thomas.
“I want some drums because I like to drum a lot,” said Kaiacam Chapman.
Children were also encouraged to write letters to Santa, get their face painted and of course enjoy the snow.
“I think my favorite part is the snow. You know we hardly get snow so, even though it’s fake snow it’s still kind of flakes falling everywhere outside, and it’s kind of magical,” said Outlaw-Clark.
Parents were also able to use this opportunity to be Santa’s favorite helpers.
“I have figured out my son wants Godzilla and she wants a unicorn,” said Katelyn Jones, Santa’s helper.
