Jackson church serves free Thanksgiving meal to the community
JACKSON, Tenn. — A special Thanksgiving dinner was held Monday afternoon.
Hosted by Unity Temple Ministries in Jackson, the event allowed any community members to show up and eat for free.
Excellent cooks provided the wholesome meal, which included everything from chicken and green beans to dressing and dessert.
This is their 2nd annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and last year the church served over 200 people.
“We just appreciate this opportunity to give back to the community, and we appreciate all the people that have volunteered from our ministry to help make this a success,” said Pastor Dwight Hunt.
The church also has a food pantry and a clothes closet, so donations are always welcome.
