Next Round of Rain Coming Wednesday, COLD Weather to Follow!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It has been a cooler but sunny day behind Monday’s front in West Tennessee. The next storm system will lift through on Wednesday ushering in a round of showers and weak storms with it. The showers should clear out by Thanksgiving morning but the cold will be funneling on in and sticking around for several days. Catch the rest of your holiday weather forecast coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
Several cold fronts are on the way this week and each will bring some changes in the weather pattern to West Tennessee. The first front showed Monday evening and brought a round of rain showers and a few weak storms with it. Severe weather didn’t show up but some isolated gusty wind and some thunder and lightning accompanied the front as it slid by. The front brought a change in the winds from the south to the northwest into Tuesday morning. The winds quickly weakened by Tuesday morning and skies also cleared out by Tuesday morning. Monday night lows will fell back down into the mid 30s and expect mid 30s again on Tuesday night.

Mostly sunny skies returned on Tuesday but temperatures were quite chilly all day as well. Highs on Tuesday only reached the mid 50s and Tuesday night lows will again fall down into the mid 30s. The winds were light out of the northeast on Tuesday but turn back to the south on Wednesday. That will start another brief warm up on Wednesday under a lifting warm front. Under the front another unstable atmosphere will present itself leading to another round of heavy rain showers and some weak storm activity Wednesday evening/night as the second front this week will pass. Highs on Wednesday will reach up to around 60° and fall down to the low 40s Wednesday night. Skies will be cloudy for Wednesday and likely cloudy again on Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING/BLACK FRIDAY:
Some of the rain from Wednesday’s front is expected to linger into at least the first half of the day on Thanksgiving. On top of the clouds and rain, it will also be cold on Thanksgiving. Highs will only reach up to the upper 40s and fall down into the upper 20s just in time to kick off our Black Friday! The winds will come out of the north or northwest for both Thursday and Friday keeping the temperatures well below normal.

The clouds will move out Thursday night into Friday morning and that is why we are expecting the coldest morning of the season so far on Friday. We should see plenty of sunshine on Friday but highs will only reach the mid 40s. It will also be cold Friday night with lows falling down into the mid 20s by Saturday morning. This will be far by the coldest weekend so far this fall coming in for the weekend following Thanksgiving.

THE WEEKEND:
The winds will vary in direction this weekend as the third cold front of the week is forecast to come by late Saturday night or early into the day on Sunday. This front looks mostly dry but some forecast models are showing snow very close to our northern border with Kentucky and that is something we are going to have to watch very closely as the weekend gets closer. As of now, we are NOT forecasting any snow in West Tennessee this weekend. We are expecting a cold but dry weekend for us.

Highs on Saturday will only reach the mid 40s and low to mid 40s are expected on Sunday depending on the timing of the weekend cold front. We should see a mix of sun and clouds this weekend as well, in general we will call it partly cloudy. The winds will briefly switch to the south for a few hours on Saturday before changing back to the northwest sometime later this weekend behind the front. Next Monday, for the parade day in Jackson, it is looking like it is going to be very COLD again, just like last year!
