Annual Turkey Day 5K held in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Gold’s Gym and Fleet Feet hosted the 20th annual Turkey Day 5K Thursday.

Representatives from Gold’s Gym, Fleet Feet, RIFA, and the community were present. Sleeved t-shirts were given to runners and the race was chip timed. The race started and finished at Gold’s Gym in Jackson. The event raises money for RIFA, a faith-based organization engaging the community in the fight against hunger.

“Last year we were able to give RIFA thirteen thousand dollars and we have a goal of at least that this year, maybe fifteen thousand so we really love supporting them and it’s a good time of year that they need the money,” said Danny Crossett, race director.

Around 800 runners participated in Thursday morning’s race.
