Hub City Brewing partners with local artist for inaugural ‘Jamsgiving’
JACKSON, Tenn. — After enjoying seconds and even some dessert, one local brewery hosts a first-ever Thanksgiving event for families to enjoy.
LOLO and Hub City Brewing teamed up to host ‘Jamsgiving.’ Thursday evening West Tennesseans made their way from the dinner table to downtown Jackson for a special show.
“A lot of people coming into town with their families and they have a lot of fellowship, but sometimes people just want to get out the house. This is an all-ages event so you can bring your whole family tonight and bowl and play games and enjoy the music and have even more fellowship outside of your house,” said LOLO, singer.
Normally, LOLO and her family enjoy Thanksgiving earlier in the day and then spend their evening in fellowship.
“So we have the rest of the evening for music and board games. Board games has always been a huge part of my family tradition growing up, but this is a new really fun tradition that I’m excited to bring into our world,” said LOLO.
Thursday night’s theme is 90s music only, and DJ Von is hoping to bring in the chill comforting vibes of the 90s and shares his favorite part of DJing.
“Just being able to connect with your audience and being able to set a vibe that everyone can feel comfortable with. No matter what you look like or what you come from DJ Von can do it you know,” said Vonnie Howard, DJ.
He also shares he has many things to be thankful for and this opportunity is one of them.
“I’m just thankful to be here, thankful for LOLO for thinking that much of me to be a part of the show and I’m excited,” said Howard.
Though people think Thanksgiving doesn’t have songs like other holidays, LOLO shares one that sounds like Thanksgiving.
“Feeling grateful and just happy in general about the circumstances of your life. Even if things may be challenging in the moment that you’re in, especially around Thanksgiving, trying to see the good in those things. I think a song like “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers kind of does that,” said LOLO.
LOLO and Hub City Brewing are hoping to continue this event in the Hub City for future years. If you missed Thursday night’s show, don’t worry, the 9th annual LOLO Christmas Show will be Saturday, December 14 and December 15 at Hub City Brewing.
