City of Jackson Christmas Parade brings holiday cheer to the Hub City
JACKSON Tenn. – It was all about the floats, performances and holiday spirit as the 2024 City of Jackson Christmas parade kicked off in downtown Jackson.
The City of Jackson Christmas Parade is a highly anticipated holiday favorite in the Hub City. Their theme this year? “Connecting the community through Christmas.”
“I have been in the Jackson Christmas parade since I was very little. Whether it was with dancing, whenever I used to dance, or being a title holder here. I think that the Jackson Christmas Parade it just an amazing thing to bring the community back together,” said Katherine West, Miss Iris Tennessee Teen Volunteer 2025.
West tells us what she’s expecting this year around the holidays.
“I can’t really think of anything that I would want. I’m so thankful for everything that I have. I know Thanksgiving has already passed but like the only thing I can really ask for is having a good brain and doing well in nationals,” said Kristin Henning, Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer 2025.
A full line up of businesses, groups, and organizations are participated in this year’s parade from marching bands, civic groups, dignitaries and even a visit from old St. Nick himself. It’s all about the spirit of Christmas and being reminded of what’s most important.
“Just the feeling you get when you’re with your whole family and you’re giving presents,” Mia Hill, parade attendee.
The purpose of this year’s theme is to encourage togetherness and for the community to make a difference.
“So many different ages, genders and ethnicities that all come together as one and I think it’s just so amazing even though we’re all bundled up in the cold tonight,” said West.
The grand marshal for the 2024 Christmas parade was Jackson Energy Authority’s communications and media relations manager, Steve Bowers.
