Simplify gift wrapping this year with these tips

JACKSON, Tenn. — Make spreading joy easier than ever this holiday season with these gift wrapping tips.

First, make sure you have all your tools. Scissors, wrapping paper, and tape — preferably transparent.

Second, pick a theme like snowmen, snowflakes, or gold and blue. Having gifts be cohesive shows that you put thought into the process.

Lastly, when wrapping gifts, go ahead and measure out how much wrapping paper you need beforehand to cut down on paper waste. Any extra strips can be used to wrap small gifts.

“Make an extra gift tag that you tape on or maybe a little bow, but this way you cut down on paper waste and it’s not as frustrating because you don’t have so much paper to deal with while you’re wrapping your gift,” said Amber Kemp-Gerstel, Scotch brand gift-wrapping expert.

When it comes to shipping items to family and friends far off, use a sturdy box and heavy duty tape to ensure your gift gets to loved ones safe and sound.
