Extreme Cold Sticking Around Through Saturday Morning, Rack Back this Weekend!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Hopefully you are staying warm and are inside for the rest of the evening and night. If you didn’t fall down to the teens yet this fall, you probably will tonight. Thursday highs only made it to the low to mid 30s from the brisk northerly winds drawing down an arctic air mass. The winds will stay out of the north tonight allowing the wind chill to fall down to around 10° at times overnight. This weekend we are going to see a little bit of a warm up but that will bring the rain back as well. There is a chance for a few storms to mix Monday morning but severe weather is not likely. Catch the full forecast right here.

THIS WEEK:
Tuesday highs only reached up to around 40° but we did see plenty of sunshine. The winds were light out of the north on Tuesday between 5-10 MPH and will be calm in the evening. Tuesday night will again be cold with lows falling down to the mid 20s by midnight before slowly warming into the morning from the return of the southwest winds. The overnight lows happened around midnight Wednesday morning in West Tennessee. The winds shifted back to the southwest on Wednesday and that brought a brief warm up before the next front crashed through Thursday morning..
Highs on Wednesday reached the low to mid 50s. There was a low pressure system coming up from the south and a late cold front that brought a few showers just south of our southern counties in the afternoon and evening on Wednesday. If you live along the Mississippi border you will had a chance of seeing a few showers, but if you live north of Madison County, chances were zero. Wednesday night lows will fell down to the low 30s and didn’t warm up at all during the day on Thursday.

Behind Wednesday’s front, even colder weather will be on the way. If you didn’t fall down to the teens Tuesday morning, you probably will on Friday morning. Thursday highs only made it to the low to mid 30s from the brisk northerly winds drawing down an arctic air mass. We did see the sun dominate most of the day on Thursday but it was cold all day long too. High temperatures will try to warm up a bit on Friday but not much. The winds will still come out of the north most of the day allowing highs to only reach the low 40s at best. Friday night lows will fall down to the mid 20s and expect mostly sunny skies on Friday.

THE WEEKEND:
This weekend we are going to see a little bit of a warm up due to the winds returning back to the south and southwest. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 50s and Sunday night will make it back up above normal for the first time in a while up to the upper 50s. Saturday night will be warm and drop down to around 50°. This will be from the southerly winds and increase in the dew point from some moisture streaming up from the south.

The next system will come through on Sunday and bring a round of rain showers with it. There is a chance for a few storms to mix in but there appears to be a better chance for thunderstorms on Monday as the next system passes by. There is a chance for some severe weather on Monday so we will be watching that closely as the week goes by. Expect a partly cloudy day on Saturday, mostly cloudy day on Sunday and cloudy skies for next Monday.
