Cold Again Saturday Morning, Rain/Storms Back on Sunday!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
After falling down to 18° last night in Jackson, we have one more cold night tonight before we start to warm up a bit just in time for the weekend. A warm front will lift through on Sunday and this will bring a round of showers and maybe a few storms with in Sunday afternoon and evening. We should continue to warm up until Tuesday next week when the next cold front will come racing through. Catch all the details coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
Behind Wednesday’s cold front, even colder weather moved in to wrap up the work week in West Tennessee. If you didn’t fall down to the teens Tuesday morning, you probably did Friday morning as we hit 18° in Jackson. Thursday highs only made it to the low to mid 30s from the brisk northerly winds drawing down an arctic air mass. We did see the sun dominate most of the day on Thursday but it was cold all day long too. High temperatures tried to warm up a bit on Friday but they sure didn’t warm up much. Highs struggled to even hit 40° for most of the region. The winds still came out of the north most of the day keeping the temperatures down but the winds did weaken and turn calm by the evening and will stay light Friday night. The skies will also be clear making for one more cold night. Friday night lows will fall down to the low to mid 20s and expect mostly sunny skies on Saturday.

THE WEEKEND:
This weekend we are going to see a little bit of a warm up due to the winds returning back to the south and southwest. Highs on Saturday will reach the low to mid 50s and Sunday will make it back up above normal for the first time in a while up to the mid to upper 50s. Saturday night will be warmed and drop down to around 40° and only down to around 50° Sunday night. This will be from the southerly winds and increase in the dew point from some moisture streaming up from the south.

The next system will come through on Sunday and bring a round of rain showers with it. A low pressure system and warm front will lift through the area creating a moderately unstable air mass. There is a chance for a few storms to mix in Sunday afternoon, but there appears to be a better chance for thunderstorms late Sunday evening or Sunday night as the next system passes by. There is a chance for some a few stronger storms, but severe weather seems unlikely at this time for us, but we will be watching that closely as the weekend progresses. Expect a partly cloudy night on Saturday, mostly cloudy day on Sunday and cloudy skies for the first half of next Monday at least.
