The City of Henderson’s annual Christmas parade lit up the streets on the evening of Thursday, December 5.
Following the festivities, WBBJ Tipsters alerted us to a possible injury that took place.
The Henderson Police Department told us that during the parade, a 10-year-old male, who had been riding a float with family members, stepped or fell off and was run over by the same float.
According to police, the incident took place directly in front of a Henderson Police officer and EMS personnel, and the child received immediate care.
Police say the child was transported to a local hospital and later released, sustaining only minor injuries.
The department shares that no charges were filed.
We also spoke with the mother of the child involved, who stated that she believes more regulations should be in place to ensure the safety of parade-goers and participants.
