Jackson’s Habitat for Humanity receives $135k+ grant from Lowe’s
PRESS RELEASE FROM HABITAT FOR HUMANITY JACKSON, TN:
Habitat for Humanity Jackson, Tennessee Area, Inc. receives $135,250 grant from Lowe’s to support home repair projects in the Jackson area
Jackson, TN (December 15th, 2024) – Habitat for Humanity Jackson, Tennessee Area, Inc. announced today it has received a $135,250 grant from Lowe’s to help repair 15 homes in the Jackson area.
The funding will support Habitat Jackson’s efforts to make homes safer and healthier and create stronger communities. With the support of the grant, older adults will receive no-cost critical repairs to be able to safely age in their home through the Aging in Place program. This funding comes at an urgent time when affordable housing and subsequent repairs can be impossible for those living on a fixed income. This season, 15 homeowners will be able to maintain their independence and remain safely in their new home as they sleep under new roofs, walk on new floors, and stay warm with improved weather seals.
“We are grateful for the support of Lowe’s who recognizes the need for quality products and services to help solve the affordable housing crisis. These funds will truly better the lives of some of our most vulnerable community members and we could not be more grateful.” – Britton Crenshaw, HFHJTA, Grants and Operations Manager
The funding from Lowe’s is part of a two-year, $6 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International to support home repair and preservation efforts in owner-occupied homes. This year, funding will enable 110 local Habitat affiliates to complete 295 projects and impact nearly 700 families across the U.S. Since 2003, Lowe’s and Habitat have worked together to help more than 18,000 people build or improve a place to call home.
