Local nonprofit highlighted for impactful community efforts

JACKSON, Tenn. — The West Tennessee Society of Human Resource Management is a nonprofit that supports HR professionals, and part of their mission involves giving back to the community.

Each month, they spotlight a nonprofit organization, providing a platform for them to share their mission and needs. This year, the Rusty Mac Foundation was the featured organization for November. Efforts concluded Tuesday with a check presentation in their honor held at Carl Grant Events Center at Union University.

“Every year, these folks step up and help out so it’s nothing new for them but we appreciate them choosing us because there’s a lot of worthy charities in this area and we’re just happy that they chose the Rusty Mac Adopt-a-Teen program,” said Rita McCaslin, chair for the Rusty Mac Foundation.

The Rusty Mac Foundation’s mission is to ‘Provide support to families in preventing and dealing with child abuse in West Tennessee and to help both parents and children meet the practical needs of preserving and improving the quality of family life.”
