WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Highs reached up to around 50° today but we are going to be about 10° cooler on Friday. Morning temperatures this weekend will fall into the 20s for both mornings. Temperatures will try to rebound early next week but that could lead to our next chances for rain and maybe a few more storms just in time for Christmas. Catch the latest forecast information coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
We picked up a solid inch of rain across most of West Tennessee Wednesday morning and encountered some non severe storms as the front moved through. Wednesday highs reached up to around 60° in the morning but dropped quickly behind the front in the late afternoon and evening. We fell down to around the mid 30s by Thursday morning. After the early Wednesday rain, high pressure has returned starting a cold and dry spell to hang around for the rest of the work week.

Thursday highs only reached up to around 50° but we did see mostly sunny skies. The winds came out of the northwest on Thursday and will stay out of the north on Friday as well. Friday will be quite windy as the front moves through making the wind chill a factor. Please bundle up if you are going to be outside on Friday. Thursday night lows will be chilly again and drop down to around the freezing mark of 32°. Friday is going to be a very cold day as the arctic air will begin to funnel back on in behind an early morning cold front. Friday will be mostly sunny, but highs will only reach the low 40s and Friday night lows will drop back down to the mid 20s again. We will be dry Thursday night and Friday but it is going to be cold through the weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
Winter officially kicks off on Saturday at 3:21am (the winter solstice) and it is going to feel very winter-like this weekend. The weekend is going to start out quite chilly for all of the Mid South. Saturday morning lows in West Tennessee will be in the low 20s and highs on Saturday will only make it up to around 40° again. We will see mostly sunny skies this weekend but it will feel quite winter-like for both days. Sunday morning temperatures will start out again in the low to mid 20s and highs on Sunday, just like Saturday will only reach the low 40s at best. The winds will come out of the north all weekend long keeping our temperatures down. We will be dry this weekend but the next chances for rain and maybe some storms will be back Tuesday into Wednesday next week, just in time for Christmas.
