Jackson church helps deliver meals to local seniors
JACKSON, Tenn. — First Presbyterian Church participated in a Meals on Wheels event, serving the Jackson community.
Tuesday morning, members of the church volunteered to go out and deliver meals to senior citizens.
Each year that they participate in the program, 150-200 meals are delivered.
Several members have been volunteering for quite some time, as this has become sort of a family tradition.
“We are called as followers of Jesus to feed the hungry, and this church takes that call very seriously,” said associate pastor Courtney Bowen. “But it’s not just feeding bellies, it’s also feeding souls.”
If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up in the church’s Fellowship Hall, or contact Emily in the church office at fpcemily@eplus.net. You can also make monetary donations by clicking here.
