Hardin Co.- Lost hunters located with drones
HARDIN CO., Tenn.—Two lost hunters located safely in Hardin County.
According to a social media post from the Hardin County Fire Department Savannah TN, two hunters who were lost in the woods Friday night were quickly located thanks to the use of thermal imaging drones.
The post states that firefighters responded to Walker Branch WMA on Diamond Island Drive around 9:34 Friday night to a report of two lost hunters. The hunters had called 911 but their cellphone battery died before their location was identified.
Firefighters then launched two thermal imaging drones and within five minutes were able to locate the hunters, one adult and a 9-year-old, via heat signatures. Both were found safe and assisted by firefighters to locate the main road.
