West Tennesseans prepare for year ahead, share 2025 resolutions
JACKSON, Tenn. — Residents in the Hub City share some of their New Year resolutions.

New Year resolutions date back to the ancient Babylonians, who are considered the founders of the New Year resolution.
While interviewing residents of the Hub City, some shared that they do not plan to make any resolutions.
However, a recent study from Statista found that the top three most common are: saving money, eating healthy, and exercising.
43% shared that they were not making a resolution. Included in this poll were Americans ages 18-80.
We spoke with a few locals who shared some of their resolutions and personal goals.
“I am wishing to be very healthy this year and all my family healthy, and we’re just in good shape right now, hope to stay that way,” one resident told us.
“I’m going to kill more squirrels and eat them for BT,” another stated.
“Well fried food, try not to eat that much fried food, and try to eat more vegetables,” said another.
For those who plan to make resolutions or have already selected your resolutions, here are some tips: create smart goals, don’t beat yourself up about not completing them quickly, and be accountable.
The least ranked resolutions were tied for 9%, both being to quit smoking and to reduce spending on living expenses, all according to Statista.
