Warming shelter open in McKenzie

MCKENZIE, Tenn. —  The City of McKenzie released a statement to social media announcing the opening of a warming shelter.

The warming center opened Sunday, January 5 and is located in the front section of the Farmer’s Market in McKenzie.

Cots and blankets will be available.

The McKenzie Police Department will monitor the area, however please keep all belongings with you at all times.

Note that pets and animals are not allowed in the center.

The center will remain open until Sunday, January 12, with weather conditions evaluated for possible extension.
