Tennessee native celebrates her 105th birthday

JACKSON, Tenn. — Claribel Herndon, a Tennessee native, has turned 105 years young today!

Brookdale Jackson Oaks threw her a special birthday celebration Tuesday afternoon.

The senior living community collected birthday cards for Claribel and hosted a proclamation from the Mayor of Jackson.

Claribel was born on January 7, 1920, and has four sons. She loves to attend church and play board games. Claribel was a nurse and worked at the Jackson Clinic for 25 years.

“We’re very excited to honor her. She is quite the lady and has lived many years and seen many things, many things,” said Amber Storey-Knight, resident programs director for Brookdale Jackson Oaks.

Punch and cake were served to cap off the party.
