Jerry W. Ward

Jerry W. Ward, born January 20, 1946, in Bemis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, surrounded by loved ones.

Jerry had a passion for life and a deep love for hot rods. He was a proud member of both the Jackson Rod and Custom Car Club and the Parkway Christian Auto Club, where he forged lifelong friendships and shared his enthusiasm for classic cars.

Jerry served his country with dedication in the Army National Guard, where he specialized as a heavy machine mechanic. Over a distinguished 40-year career, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant, earning the respect of his peers for his leadership and expertise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sadie Taylor Ward. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, and his loving daughters, Angela Crook (Clay) and Debra Pigott (John). Jerry cherished his role as a grandfather to Olivia, Will, Zoe, and Luke, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Services to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a committal service at Highland Memorial Gardens, where Jerry will be laid to rest.
