U.S. Marshals arrest attempted murder suspect in Jackson

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE U.S. MARSHALS SERVICE:

Bolivar, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested, Terrecus Hamilton, 18,  in Jackson, TN. Hamilton was wanted by the Bolivar Police Department for  attempted first degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. 

On December 26, 2024, around 1 a.m., Bolivar police responded to a shooting at  the intersection of Water Street and Jefferson Street. A vehicle occupied by four people was struck gunfire. A male driver was injured and airlifted to a Memphis hospital. Bolivar Investigators identified Terrecus Hamilton as a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest on January 2, 2025. 

On January 14, deputy marshals and task force officers tracked Hamilton to a residence on Coach Drive in Jackson. After a brief standoff, Hamilton surrendered to marshals. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex with a hold placed for Bolivar. 

The Jackson Police Department responded to the scene and conducted a search of the residence. They recovered two handguns, one of which was stolen, and a shotgun.
