Update: Crockett Co. suspect in custody

Crockett Co., Tenn.— Crockett Co. manhunt suspect located and now in custody.

According to Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce, Thomas Earl King, age 46 was apprehended and taken into custody on Old Jackson Road. King has been charged with Felony Evading, Resisting Arrest, Vandalism over $1,000, Reckless Driving, Driving on Revoked, Joyriding, and numerous other moving violations.

Crockett Co. Sheriff’s Department: Suspect on the run, Manhunt in progress


CROCKETT CO., TENN.—A manhunt is in progress in Crockett county for a suspect that fled law enforcement on foot.

Just before 5 this evening, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department posted an alert to social media of a manhunt.

We spoke to Crockett County Sheriff Troy Klyce, who gave us the following information.

“One of our deputies observed a reckless driver operating a vehicle in motion at a high rate of speed. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to stop. The vehicle broke down and the suspect fled on foot. He is described as a tall, skinny, white male, with longer hair, and wearing jeans and a dark colored t-shirt. He was last seen in the area of Roy Woods Road and Gumflat Road,” Klyce said.

This search has resulted in a heavy law enforcement presence in the area and they are asking motorists to use caution or take an alternate route. Citizens who live in the area should secure their vehicles, removing the keys, and locking the doors.
