Police investigate death of 3-year-old in Jackson

UPDATE (1/24/25): Man in custody on child abuse charge after death of 3-year-old

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department is currently investigating the death of a 3-year-old child after responding to a call.

According to a press release from JPD, on January 22, 2025, at approximately 12:59 p.m., officers from the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to the area of 550 Old Hickory Blvd in response to reports of an unresponsive 3-year-old child.

Shortly after the original press release was issued, JPD confirmed the child had died in a follow up.

“Update: The Jackson Police Department can confirm we are now investigating the death of the infant and the investigation is ongoing.”
