Local city meets with local African American Farmers and land owners

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — One city sits down with citizens to discuses the importance of land ownership.

Thursday, the City of Bolivar held a meeting for local African American farmers and land owners understand their property and how to protect their land.  We spoke with Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic on why it was important to hold the meeting.

“Everything that we do we want to make sure we’re doing something that can be beneficial to the citizens and help them in what ever issues they may be dealing with. And as we know the importance of land ownership and the real estate deals that’s happening as Tennessee grows and west Tennessee grows, we want to make sure that farmers and land owners have all the mileage they need when it comes to making those transactions.” said Mayor McTizic.

The mayor also said they hope to hold more meeting in the future.
