Milan Fire Department responds to Welton St. fire
MILAN, Tenn.—On Friday January 24, 2025 at approximately 11:15 PM, the Milan Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire at 2036 Welton St. in Milan.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke with flames visible. Firefighters were advised that there were no people or pets inside the home. Firefighters initiated a fire attack using handlines and were able to successfully extinguish the fire. No mutual aid assistance was requested or received.
There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters at the incident. The damage estimates were not available at the time of the press release. Due to the damage to the home, all the residents were displaced but had other living arrangements. No Red Cross assistance was needed.
The Milan Fire Department would like to remind everyone that working smoke alarms save lives. They should be tested monthly and be less than 10 years old.
