Carolyn Ann Callis

Carolyn Ann Callis, born May 28, 1943, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 81.

Carolyn was a woman of great warmth, humor, and joy who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing computer games, a hobby that kept her sharp and entertained. She was a passionate fan of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball and softball teams, cheering them on with devotion and pride.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Smith and Tommie Litton Seigler, and her beloved daughter, Susan Lucinda Callis.

She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Callis; her son, Tommy Callis; her daughter, Lesley Ann Matlock; her sister, Debby Edwards; her cherished grandchildren, Dakota Matlock, Mollie Callis, Brendan Callis, and Brian Callis; and her precious great-grandchildren, Emberly Williams and Maybelle Callis.

Carolyn’s kindness, laughter, and love for her family will leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held to honor Carolyn’s life on Wednesday, January 29, at 12:00 PM at Highland Memorial Gardens.
