City of Lexington holds first 2025 Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — One local city holds their first meeting of 2025.

Earlier Friday, the City of Lexington held their Board of Mayor and Aldermen agenda meeting. In the meeting they discussed a bond issue for gas and water projects and other updates. Their bond agreement was passed 4 to 3.

“Our city is never faulted on a bond and had to pay, that’s just in their to get a better rate. There was no tax increase at all some may just read that and just ran with it’s not what it’s about tonight,” said Mayor Jeff Griggs.

Some citizens are still worried that the City of Lexington will use this bond as a reason to raise taxes sometime in the future.
