‘Tiger King’ star Joe Exotic calls on President Trump to commute sentence
JACKSON, Tenn. — The main character in a Netflix documentary series that captured the attention of millions during the pandemic remains behind bars. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Reporter Ryan Hodges spoke with him about why he should be set free.

President Donald Trump has pardoned and commuted the sentences of well over a thousand individuals since he has become president. A famous Netflix star is wondering why his name has not been called.
“This call is from a federal prison. You will not be charged for this call. This call is from Joe.”
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage. Joe Exotic. The Tiger King. Whatever name you use when referring to him, many people will remember watching his Netflix documentary.

Nearly five years later, he still remains behind bars, as his team is constantly working on social media to have him pardoned by the new president.

We asked, “Do you feel like you should be a part of that and you should be one of those people that he [President Trump] pardons?”
“I should absolutely be part of it,” Maldonado-Passage said. “You know, that’s not based just because I’m famous or anything else. The evidence. The government witnesses have admitted to perjury under oath and video depositions.”
FULL INTERVIEW
Joe has copies of the affidavits on his website that allegedly prove the witnesses recanted their statements.
With roughly five and half years left on his sentence, and roughly seven years already served, Joe says he does not even have to be pardoned of the crimes. He does not believe he will live for another five and half years, because he has lung cancer and prostate cancer.
“Just commute me to time served and let… [This call is from a federal prison] … I don’t do drugs, I don’t drink, I don’t need to carry a gun. Just let me go and let me go put my life back together, because it’s been totally destroyed,” he said.
Matt Gaetz, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, Joe Rogan, Dana White, Andrew Tate, Marco Rubio, and Don Jr. are some of the people that Joe mentioned when asked if he has talked to any officials about receiving a pardon.

The main thing he asks for is for people to look at the evidence themselves.
“I need the world to go look at the evidence to show them too, just don’t take my word that I’m innocent. There’s so much corruption in my case with the federal agents getting these people to lie in order to make a law that I can’t have tigers and you can’t have tigers in America. That’s what this is really about. I’m a political prisoner.”

He says that the main thing he needs at the moment is for people to keep talking about it.
He also told us that his main goal is to get out of prison and to testify in front of Congress, explaining the horrible things that happen inside of prisons.
