Police issue statement regarding ‘suspicious situation’ at Medina Community Park

MEDINA, Tenn. — The Medina Police Department is currently conducting a follow up investigation from a suspicious situation that occurred on 01/26/2025 at approximately 6:00 pm which was referenced in a shared social media post today.

After speaking with multiple involved individuals, it has been determined to be a misunderstanding between a person running in the park for exercise purposes and kids playing unsupervised in the City Park.

The version of events that was shared on social media has not been substantiated due to inconsistencies between witnesses and video evidence from surveillance cameras inside the City Park area.

At this point, the Medina Police department has found no evidence of a criminal act which occurred or was attempted involving this situation. However, this situation is still under investigation until all possibilities have been thoroughly reviewed on a physical and or circumstantial factual basis indicating a potential crime occurred or was about to occur during this situation.

Anyone with information regarding this situation or anyone who may have been in the park between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Sunday evening (01/26/2025) and observed anything suspicious is asked to call the Medina Police Department at 731-783-1437.
