West Tennessee Healthcare Board of Trustees holds meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — The board of trustees of West Tennessee Healthcare met earlier Tuesday evening at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The Director for the Community Health Institute Dr. Vicki Lake was there presenting their NRE community connections card.
This card is a way to provide information for residents who don’t have constant access to technology. They have a card for local counties and ones for special groups such as veterans.
We spoke with Dr. Lake about what other connections the department provides.
“We help with food bags for the hospital, hygiene bags that we pass out, and we overall do the planning and collaboration for the community in its relation to homelessness. We actually lead the annual point in time counting of the homeless that we did last year,” said Dr. Lake, director of community development.
She also said she’s grateful to the board for supporting her and the department’s ventures.
