“The Jackson Police Department is a safe store cable lock pickup location, so citizens can come to the law enforcement complex and pick up up to 2 cables,” said Stephanie Graham, public information officer for the Jackson Police Department.

By using these locks, gun owners contribute to community safety, ensuring their firearms are stored safely and responsibly. This reduces the risk of misuse and accidents.

“So, gun owners can actually use lock boxes, gun safe boxes, or lock containers. They can use unconventional places in their home, such as a closet or office. Remember to keep all firearms out of the reach of children and also remember to not store firearms in your vehicle,” said Graham.

Safe firearm storage saves lives, and the safe storage of firearms is the responsibility of gun owners. So what guns do these cable locks work on?

“The cable locks can secure most pistols, rifles, shotguns and revolvers,” said Graham.

To secure a free cable lock, head down to JPD’s law enforcement complex located at 234 Institute Street and pick up yours up today.
