The Ned hosts a special sensory performance
JACKSON, Tenn.—A unique show comes to the stage at the Ned!
A special sensory friendly performance of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime’ was presented today.
The low-lit, low volume performance began at 10 this morning at the theater located at 314 East Main Street in Jackson.
The show was unlike any other allowing audience members to move about during the performance.
Often, those with sensory issues have trouble sitting still for long periods of time, especially during events like plays. Organizers say that is what makes this performance so special.
If the performance felt overwhelming, a quiet area with fidget toys and more was also available to audience members.
The play tells the story of an extraordinary young boy named Christopher, who with his unique abilities and high IQ, often struggles to fit in.
Christopher suddenly finds himself in a peculiar situation and must solve the mystery of what happens to the neighbor’s dog.
The Ned hosts the production for three days of performances, with today being the finale.
The play originally made its debut in the U.S. in October of 2014.
